Today’s post is for fun. Those that are close to me know I have a thing for unique stickers. I’m always on the lookout for sticker ideas so one day I thought to myself. Given my newfound hobby and passion of wake surfing (more on that in a future post I’m sure), it’s common to put a sticker or stickers on your surfboard. This past year, we listened to a lot of Van Halen. So much, that I actually dressed up as Eddie Van Surfer last Halloween.

Back to the saga of sticker adventures! I decided I absolutely had to have an Eddie Van Halen Frankenstrat sticker—because, you know, it must flawlessly match my boat and surfboard color scheme, which is none other than the fabulous duo of Orange and Blue (Go Gators!). So, I put on my design hat and created a sticker featuring the Frankenstrat, cleverly shaped like an alligator. When the stickers finally landed in my mailbox, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the inside flap of the package. Who knew stickers came with a user manual? I guess even stickers need guidance in life!
I breezed through the first three directions like a pro. But seriously, who in their right mind thinks, “Hey, let’s slap a sticker on while riding on the roof of a speeding car”? I mean, maybe the fourth instruction exists for the sole purpose of keeping us sane—or at least out of the emergency room! Afterall, I like the placement on the board.
